about the prayer:

1. Irrational man vs. rational man vs. devout Christian. The irrational man may be seen as a child, immature, low on Maslow's list or mentally broken. The rational man may be Christian but focused on the material world, his self-interest, and driven by respect, family or money. The devout Christian (opposite of a zealot) is self-actualized, not attached to sin (even venial sin), and lives a life aligned with Devine Will.
2. To be a devout Christian, to try and master Devine Will, does not mean you are hidden from the sin of others. It means you can walk in confidence that you are with God and not the cause of crisis that comes to you.
3. In some ways, this is a prayer for prisoners of the seven deadly sins. Often, boys raised without a father, a good father or a church Father. Masculine instincts fueled by testosterone is no match the world of men. It knows how to deal with men like that, and it frequently ends in jail, or worse. Remember the Old Lesson, love and sin are the triggers of Devine Will. Try not to learn it the hard way.
